GNA - Gás Natural Açu is a joint venture among Prumo Logística, bp, Siemens, and SPIC Brasil, dedicated to the structuring and sustainable development, implementation, and operation of energy and gas projects.
We are building the largest LNG-to-power complex in Latin America, located in Port of Açu (RJ), one of the main port complexes in Brazil, which offers a series of logistic solutions for the Brazilian oil and gas market.
Currently, the project includes the development of two natural gas-fired thermoelectric power plants (TPP GNA I and TPPGNA II), which together, will achieve 3 GW of installed capacity. Together, the plants will generate enough energy to serve about 14 million homes. In addition, the project includes a LNG regasification terminal implementation with a 21 million m3/day capacity.
In a second phase, GNA plans to expand its thermoelectric complex, in addition to creating the necessary environmental conditions for offshore domestic gas attraction and monetization, specially pre-salt, for Port of Açu.
As an anchor of this expansion, GNA has a license to more than double the energy production, reaching 6.4 GW of installed capacity, which will allow the additional thermoelectric projects development in the future.
All these projects are part of Açu Gas Hub, a set of private infrastructure solutions that will allow the natural gas and electricity supply for the Brazilian market.
GNA is strongly committed to Sustainability. All the company’s actions are based on ethics, social and environmental responsibility, safety and local development. During the two thermoelectric plants construction phase, approximately 4,500 direct jobs will be generated and around 9,000 indirect jobs, with priority given to local labor.
With jobs generation, boosting the economy and following high international standards sustainability, GNA contributes to the gas and energy market expansion and economic development not only in North Fluminense region, but in Rio de Janeiro state and in the whole country.
